Please feel free to show the video at your online meetings and share with your friends.

Young Lions Family General Meetings

Many Young Lions (5-12 years old) have already had very special Family General Meetings — in their own homes! During the meeting, children and their parents chanted together, sang together, listened to parts of the New Human Revolution adapted for young people, read experiences from children all over Canada, did a fun activity together, and much more.

But if you haven’t had a chance yet to hold a meeting with your own Young Lions, it’s not too late! Please check out the Young Lions website. Everything you need for the General Meeting is there. All you need is to click on the link and have lots of fun in the family!

Whether you have already held your meeting or are thinking about it right now, we hope that you can send us a photo of your meeting, and let us know how it went. You will find instructions on the website. Thank you!

Mail Delays for Publications

Canada Post advises that it is handling record numbers of parcels at this time, due to the recent increase in online shopping. Backlogs and delays in parcel deliveries may mean delays in other kinds of mail as well, including publications. Please be aware that your mailed copy of New Century, From Today Onward, Ère nouvelle, Chinese New Century or Daibyakurenge may arrive somewhat later than usual.

Men’s Annual Meetings - “Courage to Create Happiness” - Message from National Men’s Leader Ian Mattinson

The theme for the upcoming Men's Annual Meetings, being held across the country from August 24 to September 24 has been agreed upon by the region leaders as "Courage to Create Happiness". In this period of great challenge, I feel it is an appropriate theme. Our struggle to encourage ourselves and one another has never been more difficult and yet simultaneously so rewarding.

In preparation and leading up to our meetings, it would be great if every men's group member throughout Canada can engage in a connection campaign in conjunction with the One-Two-Three initiative that has been happening since March – every day chanting one hour of daimoku, studying for 20 minutes, and encouraging three people. Our friendship, caring concern, listening ears and open hearts are the bedrock of the kosen-rufu movement.

Enclosed below are links to SGI President Ikeda's editorial from March 2012, addressed to the men's division and titled "Men's Division, Safeguard the Citadel of Soka!" This article will also be carried in the August issue of New Century. We'd like everyone to make use of this wonderful message from our mentor, to share, read and discuss whenever we meet by phone or online.

This is a great time for all of us to rededicate ourselves and take practical steps for the happiness of others, and to begin shifting the trajectory of humanity toward peace and caring. I also want to take this opportunity to offer my most heartfelt prayers for all people in our country who are struggling under the stress and suffering that the COVID pandemic has wrought. My heart and prayers are with you!

Ian Mattinson - SGI Canada Men’s Leader
